Stephen McPartland MP visits Blakeney House

08/10/2021

Our CEO Carol Carter met with Stevenage MP Stephen McPartland last week at our Blakeney House retirement scheme. There was a lot to discuss, ranging from the impact of the withdrawal of the Universal Credit uplift to fire and building safety. Stephen then joined the residents’ regular coffee morning and a lively debate ensued about the local bus service and a range of other issues.

It was a very insightful visit with our Chief Executive Carol Carter remarking ‘it was brilliant that Stephen made the time to meet with me, local Origin staff and residents. Stephen is clearly well informed and active on both local and national issues and a refreshingly straight talker with a sense of humour!’

Stephen McPartland MP said “it was amazing to meet the team and residents at Blakeney House. I enjoyed listening to the residents and learning more about the great work the staff do to make it such a welcoming home. Origin Housing provide hundreds of affordable homes in our town and I am grateful to their CEO Carol for her ongoing commitment and willingness to work together both locally and nationally.”
