Instead of Christmas hampers, this year our Community Development Team decided to give residents referred by staff gift cards so they can buy what they need.
Given the current cost of living crisis, the team is pleased that we were able to send gift cards to all the 91 residents referred by staff. Thanks to our contractors and partners from Gilmartins, John O’Conner and HG Construction who donated towards this initiative, a total of 112 people benefited from the Christmas gift cards. Below are some of the responses from residents who received a gift card:
“Many thanks to you and the community team. Seasonal greetings. Bless Greatly appreciated as we are paying a lot of money to keep our home warm” – Claudin & Kids
”I would like to express how grateful I am to have received this gift. It was well appreciated and well needed; it will help make Christmas a little happier this year as things have been very challenging at times. Thank you so much once again for your gift. Regards Shirlee”
“I have received the Sainsburys E-gift voucher which is very much appreciated by my family and I. Thank you wholeheartedly, I’m sure I speak not just for myself but many of Origin's residents that this scheme is wonderful. During recent months the cost of living crisis has had a negative impact on so many households, including my own, and initiatives such as this help to ease that burden. Wishing you a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!” - Hollie
“This was a very generous and very moving goodwill initiative, and one I appreciate and will always remember. This token has made me very happy, the happiness I will share with others also thanks again for this gift” - Mark
