Our Board


Our Board meets five times a year and is responsible for:
  • Setting policy
  • Delegating to Committees & Executive
  • Setting strategic direction
  • Determining risk appetite
  • Monitoring performance
  • Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations
Origin’s Board delegates authority to four committees: Audit and Risk; Customer Services; Investment; and Remuneration and Nominations, as well as a Health and Safety Oversight Group. You can read more about our committees here. 



 

Group board

Neil McCall - Chair

Neil joined as Chair in September 2018. He has recently retired from the Clarion group, where he had overall responsibility for the delivery of landlord services; asset management/investment; customer services; housing management and resident involvement across 125,000 properties.

Previously Neil has been a non-executive director of Richmond Housing Partnership and MENCAP’s housing subsidiary, Golden Lane Housing, which he also chaired.  Neil is also currently a non-executive director of Reside Housing Association.

Neil is a Chartered Director, fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing and holds the Institute of Directors Certificate in Corporate Governance.

 

Bryan Ingleby - Vice Chair

Bryan is a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years' experience, predominantly in the public and not-for-profit sectors.  As a director with the National Audit Office he provided assurance to Parliament on the activities of a  number of government bodies, most notably the financial services regulatory bodies and other government owned companies. 

He now has a range of independent and non-executive roles in the health, education, housing and local government sectors.  He joined Origin Board in March 2017 and is a member of the Audit & Risk Committee.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Meena Anand

Meena has recently returned to London after almost a decade in Asia and the Middle East.  A seasoned Human Resources leader by background, Meena has operated at the c-suite level for over a decade for some of the best known FTSE 30 organisations.  She is a passionate disruptor often sought to write, speak and comment upon next-gen HR. Her articles have recently been published in several magazines.  In addition to her non-executive role at Origin, Meena is a Trustee of a local Multi Academy Trust covering three secondary schools in and around East London and a Board Advisor to Human Resources Online a magazine aimed at senior HR professionals across Asia. Meena is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel, is a qualified Organisation Development Practioner and executive coach.

 
Vicky Bonner

Vicky is an experienced housing professional and is the Director of Housing at Clarion Housing Association.  She has responsibility for housing management, resident involvement, allocations, supported housing and clienting the repairs service across 125,000 properties.  She is particularly interested in how to drive improvements in resident satisfaction throughout the whole organisation.

Vicky has over 25 years’ experience in the housing sector and began her career in housing by studying for an MSc in Housing and Social Policy at the LSE.


Carol Carter - Group Chief Executive Officer

Carol Carter joined Origin as Chief Executive in April 2017.  She has over 30 years' experience in a wide range of roles and organisations across the housing sector with a track record of success in driving organisational change and delivering high-quality customer services; effective and efficient housing and property management and community investment; ensuring value for money and building strong external partnerships. 

Prior to joining Origin, Carol was Group Director of Housing for six years at Hyde with responsibility for managing 50,000 homes.  Previously she worked for a range of housing associations, inner London and rural local authorities, as well as a three year period in consultancy, including experience at Savills. She is Chair of the National Housing Federation’s executive advisory group - the London Leaders Forum, a member of the Placeshapers Board and this year joined the advisory board for the All Party Parliamentary Group for Housing Market and Housing Delivery. Carol holds a degree in Social Science and the Professional Qualification of the Institute of Housing.


Robert Green

Bob is a Qualified Accountant with over 30 years experience in senior financial and general management roles including Finance Director of a FTSE 250 property company.

He was a Non-Executive Director of both Milton Keynes University and Bedford Hospitals and Chairman of Milton Keynes Development Partnership. He is currently a trustee of the Parks Trust Milton Keynes.

 

Argiri Papathos

Argiri joined Catalyst in July 2021 as Director of Governance and Compliance. She is supporting the organisation to deliver its core business activities in a way that is compliant with relevant regulation and legislation. Her career has been focused in social housing and local government where she has led on building teams and inspiring high levels of engagement. 

Prior to joining Catalyst, Argiri led multi-disciplinary corporate services teams, including Company Secretariat, People, Information Technology, Data Governance, and Business Transformation for the Salvation Army Housing Association, Estuary Housing Association and Southend Borough Council. Argiri’s accomplishments include revitalising the approach to internal customer care, resulting in efficient services and improved satisfaction.

Argiri’s experience includes appointments as non-executive director and member of the Audit and Risk Committee for Origin Housing, Advisor to the Audit Committee for the Royal College of Nursing and mentor with the Leadership 2025 charity. Argiri is a Fellow of the RSA.
Julia Porter

Julia Porter is an experienced advisor, mentor and board director. Her non-executive career includes the Boards of DMA (as Chair and as architect of the revised DMA Code of Practice), Safestyle plc (replacement windows) and Freeview (UK’s largest free to air digital TV platform). Her consulting roles includes accessible practitioner led GDPR advice plus strategic advice for business starts ups as well as marketing and CRM/data strategy consulting. Her executive experience includes stints at Guardian News & Media, Getty Images, ITV and IPC Magazines. At the Guardian she was responsible for the Award winning campaign "Why Your Data Matters". She holds an MBA from London Business School.
