The Regulator of Social Housing is seeking views on its revised regulatory consumer standards. These are standards that registered providers must meet so tenants live in safe, quality homes, have choice and protection, and can hold landlords to account.

The four proposed consumer standards are:

  • The Safety and Quality Standard
  • The Transparency, Influence and Accountability Standard
  • The Neighbourhood and Community Standard
  • The Tenancy Standard.

new Code of Practice is also proposed. Here is a document about what is proposed and an easy read version. You can respond through the online survey.  The consultation closes at 6pm on 17 October 2023.

We welcome the new consumer standards and think they’re a positive step forwards in meeting the diverse needs of residents and ensuring social homes are safe and well maintained.
