Following the announcement of our merger in April 2024, we would like to update you on what has been happening over the past few months and how we are moving forward with integration with Places for People.
We have agreed key principles to make sure that all times we are focused on our residents and our people when integrating the two organisations. We have been doing detailed comparisons on our ways of working, mainly around central/corporate services such as finance and IT and are just starting to do this for customer–facing services.
Our development function will be moving across in mid-December 2024. This will mean that we will be able to continue to develop and acquire more affordable homes for those in need - reducing pressures on housing waiting lists.
In April 2025, the Origin Board will step down and we will report into the PfP board. Some of our central services will be moving across to PfP as well. We will continue to communicate with you and our residents through our usual channels after this move has happened.
Our aim is to fully integrate the two organisations by October 2025. This is the current target date, but it will depend on a number of factors including being able to move over our IT systems.
Some of our other teams may transfer across before the October date, and we will continue to keep you updated as we work through the plan.
What does this mean for residents?
There will be no changes at this point. We will continue to deliver services as we are, and your Origin contacts will be the same. We will update you in advance of any changes which may affect you.
