Get involved with our Repairs Contract Group

Following our comprehensive procurement process, which started with a consultation with our residents and colleagues at the end of 2021, from 16 initial bidders, Gilmartins were successful with their bid. This means they’ll be delivering our new responsive repairs and voids refurbishment service.

Their contract is due to start on 6 June 2023 and it will be a long-term agreement of five years, with the option to extend by a further five years, giving a maximum 10-year contract. A long-term contract (with break clauses) provides a stable foundation for continuous improvement in customer service and efficiency.

We have new service standards and approach to service delivery within the contract, shaped by feedback from our residents, focusing on better communication, improved levels of first-time fix and quality of work.

This is why we’re looking for residents to work with us as we prepare for the new contract with Gilmartins to start, during the mobilisation period. You’ll provide input on progress of the repairs contract, review and scrutinise performance.

Time commitment: We’d need an hour of your time each month for at least a year starting from March 2023, with an option to apply to continue after the first year if you wish to and have the time. We may sometimes send you documents to read before the meeting.

Why get involved: Work with us to ensure our new repairs contract is delivered to agreed standards and to residents’ satisfaction. Meet and work with other residents, gain new skills and experience. You will also receive a £10 gift card of your choice for each monthly meeting you attend, to thank you for your time. These will be issued quarterly.

How to register your interest – email community.development@originhousing.org.uk with your name, address and confirmation that you can commit time required, and briefly explain why you want to get involved by 12pm Monday, 30 January.
