Congratulations to our winners at the Places for People Community Awards 2024

Each October, Places for People gather in York to honour the exceptional efforts of those who have made a real difference through our annual Community Matters Awards. This inspiring event is dedicated to celebrating the individuals who go above and beyond, working selflessly to create positive change.  

This year Cameron and Jennifer, two of our London residents won the Good Neighbour Award.

Cameron and Jennifer have worked tirelessly to bring a sense of community and trust back to the area they live in Kentish Town. Including bringing back to life a community garden for residents to enjoy and creating a tenant's association to support projects in the local area.  

As well as this, the block they lived in is suffering from damp issues and they worked closely with Origin staff to instigate a plan of works that is required for improvement.  When the works are completed, residents will have a much improved home environment.   

Their involvement was key, as many residents were not comfortable discussing their issues with Origin directly and felt more comfortable speaking with other residents. They were able to highlight areas of concern through their conversations.  

They both have a real 'can do' attitude and saw the benefit of working in partnership to help the local residents.
