A great trip to the seaside for our older residents, despite the weather misbehaving

Our Retirement Housing Team recently organised a coach trip down to the seaside at Folkestone. Even though the typical British weather was misbehaving a bit, with some rain showers, everyone had a fantastic time filled with laughter, food, and good company.

One of our residents had a brilliant time thanking Amba-Rae, our Retirement Scheme Manager at Pennethorne House: "We had the most wonderful time. Amba-Rae was so wonderful to all us oldies, and I would like to thank her very much – I’m sure we all do!"

The coach ride itself was also very lively with everyone chatting and looking forward to the seaside. Another resident noted, "Everyone had a very nice trip. People said we’re already looking forward to the next one! Regardless of the rain, everyone was so cheerful. The coach driver was a very pleasant gentleman – thank you, it was well appreciated."

No seaside trip would be complete without fish and chips! One resident said:  “It was superb – more, more, more! I really enjoyed the fish and chips and ice cream. Never mind the rain, I was happy to be soaked!"

We’re really happy our residents had such a great time and are already excited about the next trip. Thank you to everyone who helped organise the day and made it one to remember!
