A Day to Remember at Columbus Close celebrating 100 Years of Origin

To mark Origin’s 100 year celebrations the team at Columbus Close, one of our supported housing schemes, hosted a special event on a Wednesday in mid-July in hopes of good weather and despite a brief rain shower, the day turned out beautifully.

The team from Columbus Close, Madison and Terry arranged a local band to play along with a magician and a stunning cake. Food and drinks were provided mainly by Morrisons, with lots of treats throughout the day to ensure everyone was well fed.

Raffle prizes were donated by service users and staff, and flyers invited our Columbus Close neighbours and the Colombus Close was decorated with banners and promotional items to commemorate Origin's 100 years.

The team set up gazebos, banners, and garden games, creating a festive atmosphere with activities and a raffle raising £60 for a local homeless hostel. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive with all attendees thanking us for creating something memorable.

This celebration was made possible with a £400 contribution from the Community Development fund and an additional £400 from a service user's family. Thank you to everyone who helped make our 100th-anniversary celebration a success!
