A Day at the seaside: residents enjoy sun, sea, and community

Our recent day trip to the coast proved to be a huge success, bringing together 17 residents from Camden and Chelmsford for a fun day in the sun. After hearing that day trips were top of the wish list at most of our schemes during a resident consultation, we quickly got to work organizing this seaside adventure, with another trip already in the pipeline.

We spread the word with posters across our Camden and Chelmsford retirement schemes, inviting residents to join in the fun. The weather was great with the sun shining brightly as everyone paired up and set off to explore the coast. One resident even joined colleagues from Origin to have a paddle to collect shells and pebbles as souvenirs for a creative project at home.

Everyone was back at the meeting point to go home at 4pm and ‘the big smiles said it all, everyone had a wonderful day’. The journey back was peaceful, with the sea air, a stroll along the seafront, and a traditional fish and chips meal leaving everyone very relaxed!

To top it all off, the coach driver kindly dropped residents back at their individual schemes, rather than just at Eversholt Street, making the end of the day as smooth as possible.

A big thank you to our Care and Support volunteers Anisha, Louche, Fatima, and Melanie — and thanks to Helen  for being on standby. Your efforts made this day really special for everyone!
