We Are Ageing Better: October events

We Are Ageing Better is a project we deliver in St Pancras and Somers Town with Ageing Better in Camden. The project brings people together to share skills and experiences, and create change in the community. It is open to everyone over 60 in St Pancras and Somers Town.

This month, there are plenty of trips, events and activities to get involved in including weekly bingo, gallery visits and a Black History Month film screening of Hidden Figures!

Wellbeing Welcome event (free)

World Mental Health Day is on Sunday 10 October and this event is for anyone new to the programme who has found it difficult to come out after lockdown. If you are just starting to come out and would like to find out about our activities in a quiet and calm environment, pop in for a cup of tea and say hello.

Visit to Wellcome Collection (free)
Tuesday 12 October, 1pm –2.30pm
Meet at 1pm at Wellcome Collection, 183 Euston Rd, NW1 2BE
We will go round the On Happiness exhibitions together followed by a cup of tea at the café. Please note there are six slots for 1pm and six slots for 1.15pm, 12 places in total. We will do another visit in November on a different day for those who cannot make this date.

Hidden Figures Film screening and discussion (free)

As part of Black History Month, we will be screening Hidden Figures at the hall. Our book club has also been reading the book the film is based on. Join us to discuss the film and book afterwards.

Masterpieces Exhibition at The Queens Gallery (free)
Monday 18 October 10.30am -12pm
Meet from 10am onwards at The Queens Gallery, Buckingham Palace, SW1A 1AA
A chance to have a self-guided tour of the exhibition followed by a short talk by the warden. Places are limited for this event. Please note there aren't any refreshments provided at the gallery this time.
