The Care Quality Commission’s assessment of our Learning Disability service

The Care Quality Commission recently made an engagement and support phone assessment of Hillside, our Learning Disability Service in Hertfordshire.

The call covered four assessment areas: safe care and treatment, staffing arrangement, protection from abuse and assurance processes, monitoring and risk management.

The result of this assessment at Hillside is that:

  • We are managing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic at Hillside.

  • We have access to regular deliveries of PPE.

  • Systems have been introduced to make sure infection control is at a good standard.

  • Residents’ overall health and wellbeing is being monitored.

  • Regular staffing team has continued through this time which helped with people’s anxieties.

  • COVID-19 risk assessments are in place and quality assurance has continued

  • There has been good management presence during this time.
