Case study: Project 99

In partnership with local youth charity, New Horizon we re-purposed one of our buildings previously being used as a nursing care home by another organisation to accommodate and support 10 young people, many of whom where formerly sleeping rough in the area.

Designed to overcome some of the problems that keep young people trapped in homelessness, the scheme ‘Project 99’ offers a home along with a year of support from New Horizon for all residents. The scheme was designed with the aim of giving the young residents somewhere they would be proud to live and

One of the new residents at Project 99 speaking about his new home said: “before this it was a mix of sofa surfing and sleeping on the streets, and now I’ve got this… and I’ve got a room it’s got a sink, I’ve got friends – I can’t describe it, I can’t say how good it feels”.
